For elegant occasions... Duo Classico offers a delightful mix of classical and popular melodies, with flute and piano creating just the right atmosphere.
Duo Classico is Rosemary Shepherd (flute) and Nigel Poole (piano / keyboard).
We play an appealing mixture of classical pieces and popular melodies, to create the perfect atmosphere for wedding receptions, corporate functions and similar events. We cover a wide variety of music, ranging from baroque sonatas and light classical pieces to show tunes, swing, latin and popular standards.
Rosemary holds a Bachelor of Education (Music) from the University of Canberra. She has performed with a variety of musical groups, including the Canberra Youth Orchestra, Musica da Camera, SCUNA, ACT Singers, Austrian Choir, Kaleidoscope and Canberra's National Opera Company. Through music, she has toured Queensland, Japan, Germany and Austria.
Nigel completed his Bachelor of Music with the University of New England in 2022. Prior to that, he has had many years experience as a cruise ship musician, sailing mainly out of Florida, USA, followed by a period of performing in Queensland tourist locations, including island resorts such as Hamilton and Daydream.
Now, as a duo, we are available to play for functions in the Canberra region where tasteful instrumental music is required to create just the right ambience. In venues where no piano is available, we can supply an electric piano and a small PA system.

Nigel is also available to play solo piano or keyboard, in situations where only one musician is required.
In addition, Nigel and Rosemary are both experienced church musicians. If you require an organist for your wedding ceremony, or organ and flute duets, we can provide that too!
