Hi my name is Phil. I have had the pleasure and honour of entertaining and officiating wedding receptions now for more than 35 years.
I enjoy all genres of music and like to think that I will add an organic element to your night and a unique vibe that streaming services and a bluetooth speaker may struggle with.
Entertainers are one of your vendors that will be present at the start and amongst the last to leave. With your permision I can assist to alleviate and potentially elliminate unforseen moments that could bring on an unnecessary pressure to you or your guests.
As mentioned I am set the task of interacting with your speech givers, meeting your 'party' table and doing my utmost to put your seal on this night of nights.
This is why I encourage potential couple to reach out, ask questions and discuss if we are a good match for one another. I listen to you and become a chameleon to be mild mannered and respectfull, or bring the nightclub to your once in a lifetime experience. I will not do anything that would make you feel uncomfortable, taking into account how you like to socialise.
My first venture into the wedding industry was as a videographer, there to capture the day, not create the day. What changed it for me was when I encountered, not too often but enough, that entertainers could make, or break the reception. The video I took when it was time to party was only as good as the ability of the entertainer to create a vibe in the room. If that vibe didn't happen, when the band took a break, that was the queue for some guests to say their farewells and leave. This is what made me put my camera to one side, collate my music (Vinyl and CDs at the time) and be that guy in the corner.
As for my MC skills, they came about because I was seeing uncles, aunts and best friends become extremely uneasy as the moment to introduce the bridal party to the room and keep the timeline flowing. No friend or family member wants to say no to a request from the soon to be married couple to be the MC to their wedding. That's not to say that their are many very capable people that will do justice to this commitment.
If however you would like to have everyone, family and friends totally engaged and committed to celebrating with you and not worry if the photographer is still having dinner, or start the speeches only to find that your parents are in the bathroom. Is there a knife to cut the cake.
It is always an honour to take on this role and do my utmost to carry out that duty.
